Kamuela Greenhouse/Specialty Orchids is, admittedly, a long name, but it aptly describes the where and what of our company. Kamuela (pron. kam-oo-ella),also known as Waimea, is a town on the Big Island, 55 miles NW of Hilo, in temperate upslope ranchlands. As to the Specialty Orchids, they're what we're about. One of our principals, Bob Burkey, has been hybridizing odont. intergenerics for years. We've not only bloomed some distinctive and lovely ones: we've got quite a few of the best in the lab for cloning. You won't see these on a chain store shelf, at least not for quite a while, but you can see their images here, and be one of the select few to own one, or more.... We also have originals in miltoniopsis and paphiopedilum. The offerings that follow represent a small portion of what grows in our half-acre greenhouse. We plan to rotate the listings on a semi-regular basis, so please visit the site intermittently if you like this kind of material.
